AL Recaps – 5 Run Rally Helps Tigers Stun Indians

Detroit Tigers NewsDetroit –  Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning and the Tigers handed the Cleveland Indians a stunning loss 10-8 .

Chris Perez of the Indians gave up the five runs on three hits and two walks in two thirds of an inning.

The Indians were winning the game 8 -5 to when the bottom of the 10th began.

Cabrera finished his day 2-for-4 with two walks, three RBI and a run scored.

Austin Jackson was 4/6 on the day as was one of the newest Tigers Omar Infante. the Indians used seven pitchers in the game

Baltimore 1 – Tampa Bay 0  –  David Price pitched eight shutout innings for the Rays. The only run of the game came in the 10th inning with Taylor Teagarden‘s 10th-inning RBI double

Minnesota 4 – Boston 6 –  Adrian Gonzalez had a two run homer and Franklin Morales provided another quality start for the Red Sox. Josh Willingham hit a solo homer, his 28th, and Ryan Doumit added a two-run shot for the Twins.

Toronto 6 – Oakland 5  –  Anthony Gose went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Casey Janssen picked up his 14th straight save. Tommy Milone was slammed for six earned runs over six innings

Texas 6  – Kansas City 7 –  Alberto Gonzalez and Mike Olt both had errors in crucial 10th inning yesterday that allow the Royals a 7-6 victory over the Rangers. Luke Hochevar took a no-decision. Jeff Francoeur went 2-for-5 with a solo home run

Los Angeles 2 – Chicago 4 –  A.J. Pierzynski  homered for the fifth consecutive game.  Nate Jones (5-0) allowed one run in two innings in relief of injured starter Francisco LirianoBrett Myers pitched a scoreless eighth, and Addison Reed struck out two in the ninth for his 18th save in 21 chances.

Seattle 2 – New York 6 – Freddy Garcia pitched five innings for the Yankees and Raul Ibanez drove in three runs.
