AL Recaps – Felix Hernandez Tosses two-hit shutout at Yankees

Seattle Mariners NewsNEW YORK –  Felix Hernandez pitched his third shutout of the season, allowing only two hits to a powerful New York Yankees lineup.

Hernandez walked only two and struck out six and threw just 101 pitches. The only run of the game came when Mike Carp singled home John Jaso in the second inning.

Robinson Cano and Ichiro Suzuki had  the only two hits for the Yankees

Baltimore 4 – Tampa Bay 0 –   Wei-Yin Chen pitched seven shutout innings and Pedro Strop and Jim Johnson completed the shutout of Tampa Bay , Chris Davis knocked in two runs for the Orioles. Jeremy Hellickson was roughed up for four earned runs and eight hits in four innings of work. Ben Zobrist went 2-for-3 but the Rays .

Cleveland 1 – Detroit 6 –  Ubaldo Jimenez gave up six runs in 5 1/3 innings. Doug Fister allowed just one run and four hits in a complete-game victory. Jhonny Peralta went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Saturday night in Detroit, helping the Tigers to a 6-1 victory over the Indians.

Texas 4 –  Kansas City4 –  Mike Olt  and Josh Hamilton each drove in two runs for the Rangers. Scott Feldman worked into the eighth inning and Alexi Ogando  earned his third save of the season.

Toronto 3 –  Oakland 1 –  David Cooper hit a tying homer in the ninth inning and Edwin Encarnacion scored on catcherGeorge Kottaras‘ throwing error in the 11th

Minnesota 6 – Boston 4Joe Mauer hit his seventh home run for the Twins . Clay Buchholz pitched seven innings and allowed one unearned run while striking out three.

Los Angeles – ChicagoAlbert Pujols hit his 24th home run for the Angels.  A.J. Pierzynski hit his 20th for the White Sox, and Kevin Youkils  list added two more  home runs for teh Chisox
