NL Recaps – Reds Win Again – Behind Ludwick and Arroyo

Cincinnati Reds NewsCINCINNATI –  The Cincinnati Reds won their 19th game in their last 22, to move 22 games over 500.

Ryan Ludwick drove in four runs and homered to power the Reds over the Padres 6-4.

Bronson Arroyo pitched six strong innings, allowing seven hits and four runs with just two walks.

Aroldis Chapman recorded his 23rd save of the season. Drew Stubbs had two hits and two runs scored for the Reds.

Houston 4  – Milwaukee 13Ryan Braun hit his 29th home run and Rickie Weeks added his 12th and the Brewers clubbed the Astros

Pittsburgh 8 – Chicago 4  – Starling Marte hit his second home run and the Pirates scored five times in the eighth inning to beat the Cubs 8-4

Arizona 0 – Los Angeles 4 – Miguel Montero and Chris Johnson homered for the Diamondbacks to complete the sweep of the Dodgers

Philadelphia – WashingtonJimmy Rollins hit two home runs, and Nate Schierholtz  hit his first home run as a Phillie. Jonathan Appelbaum recorded his 23rd save, and Vance Worley his sixth victory.

Miami  4 – Atlanta 3Carlos Zambrano earned a victory out of the bullpen for the Marlins. Ben Sheets pitched into the seventh for the Braves

 St. Louis – Colorado – Matt Holliday hit two home runs for the Cardinals.

New York – San Francisco – Matt Cain was done after five innings, was done after five innings allowing two runs and seven hits with three walks
