NL Recaps – Pirates and McCutchen Roll Past Brewers

MILWAUKEE – The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4. Andrew McCutchen hit his fourth home run in the last three games and the Pirates remained tied for first place in the National League Central.

Kevin Correia  gave the Pirates six innings, scattering four hits and allowing just two earned runs, four overall.

He struck out six. Jason Grilli set up Joel Hanrahan for his 24th save of the season.

Casey McGehee also homered for the Pirates. The Pirates are  now 11 games over 500

Philadelphia 8 – Colorado 5  the Philadelphia Phillies snapped a five-game losing streak and starter Vance Worley pitched into the seventh inning as the Phillies beat the Colorado Rockies 8-5

Miami 1 – Washington 1  Gio Conzalez and Mark Buehrle put on a pitching clinic and Buehrle came out on top as the Miami Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 2-1 . it was only the fourth loss for Gonalez this season.

Cincinnati 3 – St. Louis 2  Ryan Ludwick hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to help the Cincinnati Reds beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 . For the Reds it was their fifth victory in a row.

Atlanta 8 – New York 7 R.A Dickey didn’t have one of his better games today the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Mets 8-7

Chicago 4 – Arizona 1 Ryan Dempster extended his shutout streak 33 innings, tying the Chicago Cubs record set by Ken Holtzman in 1969. The Cubs beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1
